SEGREGATION AND DISCRIMINATION

In-Depth Page

Summary: America's history of segregation and discrimination is a fairly large part of America's history. Segregation is when a variation of something is seperated from the rest of it's base, such as African-Americans and Caucasion Americans. Discrimination is biased mistreatment of a certain person or group of people in society, often times because of something out of their control. In America, segregation occurred between black and white americans, white americans under the assumption that black americans were somehow lesser people. This segregation was a direct result of popular discrimination by white americans against the black community, such things as seperated restrooms, different schools, and even differentiated water fountains.
